Driving
If your company employs people to drive as part of their work, whether company car or delivery vehicle, then you have a clear ‘Duty of Care’ to ensure that they are safe to drive and that they meet the strict requirements of the Highway Code, relevant road traffic laws relating to eyesight and the Health and Safety Act 1974.
The HSE’s document, Driving at Work, is clear that it is the employers responsibility to ensure, as far as is practical, the health and safety of all employees while at work.
In order to meet the requirements of the Highway Code, and therefore the Health and Safety Act 1974 and the ‘Duty of care’ legislation, every driver should regularly undergo a full eye examination carried out by a qualified Optometrist.
If the optician states that eyesight correction is necessary for safe driving then it is vital that the prescribed eyewear is always worn when your employee is driving in line with their working responsibilities. The law is unequivocal on this.
With this in mind we have designed specific Drivers Packages. Benefits include complete priced spectacles incorporating CR39 or Polycarbonate lenses, Anti glare coating for night driving and polarised sunglasses.
We offer a full screening process which is carried out on the latest visual screening equipment and the service can help review which of your staff will need a full sight test to be carried out.
| Visual Screening | £5.00* |
| Full Eye Health Examination | £17.50 |
| Complete spectacles with anti-scratch | from £39.95 |
| Anti-reflection coating | from £10.00 extra |
