Our services
Eye tests
At 4 Sight your eyes will be examined by qualified opticians who after having spent a minimum of four years training have achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in optometry and registration with the General Optical Council, Harley Street, London.
We offer NHS and Private eye examinations which when necessary also include eye pressure tests and visual field checks at no extra charge (NHS eye tests are free to the over 60's, low income families and full time students under 19). While it is generally advisable to pre-book we often have immediate appointments available...
Spectacles
If you need spectacles, our fully trained staff will help you select the best frames and lenses for your lifestyle.
We have a fantastic range of frames to suit all pockets, from budget to standard to designer.
We are all individuals with different face shapes, skin tones, hair colour and lifestyles. Our friendly, knowledgeable team are happy to assist and advise you on which frame styles and lenses will be best for you.
Digital hearing service
Our ears are as important as our eyes and yet far fewer people have regular hearing checks – one reason for this is the lack of convenient places to go for this service. At this practice we can look after your ears as well as your eyes. Hearing checks take just five minutes, are free of charge and can be done at the same time as your eye examination.
Following your check, if a fuller assessment is required we will book you an appointment with our fully qualified hearing aid audiologist who will carry out a full hearing test for you – again free of charge. If a hearing instrument could help you, he will show you how and advise you on your options – including the latest miniature, digital hearing aids that are virtually invisible. Free fitting and aftercare are all part of the service.
Contact lenses
Contact lenses offer a stylish alternative to spectacles; they give you all round
vision, the freedom to play sports or the flexibility to have a different look. Nearly everyone who wears glasses can also wear contact lenses with ease. Contact lens technology has made significant advances in recent years, and today's contact lenses are extremely comfortable. In fact most people forget they are wearing them after a few seconds. Most new wearers choose to use soft contact lenses, which are comfortable almost immediately. With daily disposables, you simply wear a fresh pair every day and then throw them away.
